Campus Natura

Campus Natura is more than a place to stay - it's a growing community project in the peaceful village of Alqueve, near Coja, in the heart of Central Portugal.

Built from traditional schist stone as part of the Aldeias do Xisto, the house offers four private ensuite rooms, shared kitchens on each floor, fast Wi-Fi, comfortable workspaces, and beautiful mountain views. Whether you're travelling, working remotely, or simply slowing down, you'll find a calm and welcoming place to call home.

We're especially happy to welcome people who enjoy creating with their hands. Gardeners, builders, carpenters, permaculture enthusiasts, artists, musicians, and anyone with practical skills are invited to become part of the story as Campus Natura continues to grow.

The surrounding area is one of Portugal's hidden gems. Explore the crystal-clear river beaches of Coja, Folques, Cascalheira, Benfeita, and Avô, or visit the spectacular Fraga da Pena waterfall, tucked away in the ancient Mata da Margaraça forest. Coimbra and Viseu are both less than an hour away.

Breakfast and dinner can be prepared using seasonal produce from the garden, alongside locally sourced cheeses, wines, and traditional Portuguese dishes, including the region's famous Chanfana.

The entire house can also be reserved for yoga retreats, wellness groups, workshops, or community gatherings. Over time, Campus Natura will host music evenings, nature walks, agroforestry courses, permaculture workshops, and other events that bring people together through learning, creativity, and a deeper connection with nature.
