Join the Fridayhappiness crew in the Monchique mountains and help co-create a playful, regenerative way of living. Each role below contributes to the magic of this off-grid village.

⚡ 1. Electrician (Off-Grid Wizard)

Got skills with solar, circuits, or switches? We need you to help wire up our homes, set up solar systems, and bring light (literally!) to the land.
Tasks include:

• Installing and maintaining off-grid solar systems

• Troubleshooting basic wiring and electrics

• Helping create safer, smarter energy flows
  💥 Must have prior experience working with electrical systems

🚿 2. Plumber (Water Flow Master)

Water is sacred here — and we need you to keep it flowing. From off-grid showers to greywater systems, you’ll help design and maintain our natural water infrastructure.
Tasks include:

• Installing and maintaining plumbing for sinks, toilets, and showers

• Supporting greywater and filtration systems

• Helping with rainwater collection setups
  💧 Experience in plumbing required (creative problem-solving a bonus!)

🛠️ 3. Builder (Natural Construction Crew)

Love working with your hands? Join our earth-building team and help shape the village using cob, timber, stone, and creativity.
Tasks include:

• Cob building and plastering

• Timber framing, roofing, or stonework

• Repair and maintenance of existing structures
  🏡 No formal training needed, but some building or DIY experience preferred

🍳 4. Cook (Community Kitchen Hero)

Feed the crew and stir the love. Our kitchen is the heart of the village, and we’re looking for cooks who can turn local veggies into nourishing meals.
Tasks include:

• Preparing shared lunches and dinners

• Baking, fermenting, and preserving

• Organizing the kitchen and managing ingredients

🪴 5. Gardener (Earth Tender)

Help grow the food that fuels the village. You’ll get your hands in the soil and your heart in tune with the land.
Tasks include:

• Planting and harvesting in the garden and food forest

• Composting and soil building

• Caring for medicinal herbs and vegetables
  🌻 No green thumb needed—just a willingness to learn and dig in

🧼 6. Village Guardian (Cleaning & Upkeep)

Keep the village sparkling and grounded. You’ll help maintain common spaces, compost toilets, and good vibes.
Tasks include:

• Cleaning communal areas, cabins, and facilities

• Managing waste systems (compost, recycling, etc.)

• Supporting daily rhythms and routines
  🧽 A deeply appreciated and often overlooked role—perfect for those with pride in tidy, sacred spaces

📱 7. Social Media Storyteller (Magic Catcher)

Are you a visual wizard, storyteller, or Instagram fairy? Help us share the story of Fridayhappiness with the world.
Tasks include:

• Capturing photos and videos of daily life and events

• Managing Instagram posts and stories

• Helping craft our digital voice with fun, heart, and authenticity
